RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Bilingual Financial Accountant will handle all financial aspects of various programs. Specifically:

Prompt processing of all invoices received in Mitacs Online and our financial system;

Accounts receivable follow up;

Processing funding requests/bills and payments for all programs;

Payment application in Mitacs Online;

Assist in internship budgets as required;

Monthly program analytic checks to program activity and financial systems;

Form 300 University reporting reconciliations;

Ensure compliance with all government and industry contracts;

Responding to queries and requests internally to our business development and grant specialist teams in the region;

Additional tasks as assigned by your manager;

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Fully Bilingual in English and French

Post-secondary education and a combination of commercial or business experience

Very strong multi-tasking and communication skills

At least 2 years accounting work experience ideally in a non-profit or academic setting and account management is an asset

Attention to detail and accuracy are essential

Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Self-motivated, able to work in a team environment and balance the needs of a number of individuals
