Reporting to the HR Manager, the HRG is responsible for performing professional HR-related duties and works closely with operational leadership in supporting GLENTEL’S 1600+ retail employees.

Reporting to the HR Manager, the HRG is responsible for performing professional HR-related duties and works closely with operational leadership in supporting GLENTEL’S 1600+ retail employees. The HRG provides day-to-day HR services to their designated core clients, which includes our Quebec stores. The key customer base supported by the HRG role includes district management, store management and retail store employees.

- Subject matter expertise on best people practices

- Employee development

- Employment law compliance

- Recruitment and selection

- Onboarding and orientation

- Workforce planning

- Employee communication and engagement

- Program development and implementation

- Policy interpretation and administration

- Human Resources Information System (HRIS) administration

- Employee wellness, health and safety

- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications 

- Three to five plus years of generalist experience in human resources management

- Minimum of a post-secondary diploma in Human Resources, Business Management, Organizational Development or related program of study – Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred

- CPHR (Chartered Professional in Human Resources) designation preferred

- Knowledge of various provincial employment laws and practices on a national level

- Prior experience in a retail and/or multi-unit operational environment strongly preferred

- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows/Microsoft Office applications with intermediate to advanced Excel skills

- Database management and record keeping skills – experience utilizingADP Workforce Now an asset

- Effective oral and written communication – Proficiency in both French and English is required

- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills

- High level of confidentiality and diplomacy

- Excellent organizational skills

- Specialized training in employment law, organizational development, employee relations, safety, training, leadership and proactive employment relations is considered an asset
