LifeScan Canada, a division of Johnson & Johnson Inc., is currently recruiting for a Channel Marketing Manager located in Burnaby, BC.

The Channel Marketing Manager is expected:

To deliver on Retail strategies and plans with flawless execution, providing a superior customer experience to both internal and external stakeholders.

To develop and implement competitive promotions to drive growth and self-management blood glucose best practices.

To collaborate with a team of associates in the achievement of both short- and long-term company and channel objectives in pharmacy recommendation, shopper preference, and leadership in diabetes care.

To participate in the sales planning processes and support the management of critical commercial business drivers. 

To foster a creative, innovative, and results-oriented environment through effective planning, cross-functional collaboration, decision-making support, and team engagement.

To advance the interests of the organization through J&J affiliate organizations, agency and key supplier relationships, and strategic partnerships with industry & association.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

Project Management: Developing briefs and schedules, liaising with internal and external partners, directing content, artwork development and approvals, managing budgets, providing oral and written project updates, and analyzing and presenting project results.

Program Development: Oversee the development and implementation of effective and differentiated Retail promotions, programs, and events in accordance with sales priorities and budget commitments.  Strategic development of customer communications that reflect shopper/patient/HCP insight and incorporate evidence-based claims and competitive messaging.

Customer Insight: Champion the understanding of customer needs via qualitative and quantitative insight used to drive business planning and program development. Primarily collected through market research, account and pharmacy research, and salesforce and customer feedback.

Business Management, Planning & Budgeting: Support the development of short- and long-term business plans, budgets, and forecasts for the Retail channel. Channel plans are developed and adjusted according to customer needs, competitor dynamics, corporate objectives, and product share and recommendation targets.

Commercial Leadership: Function as a support to the Commercial Leadership Team to address competitive threats and seize key business opportunities.

Build relationships among internal business partners, key suppliers, industry partners, and J&J affiliates to advance organizational growth and business intelligence.

Demonstrate the use of refined analytical problem solving and story-telling skills (including presentation and higher-level quantitative analysis as required).

Exercise a high degree of business judgment and sound reasoning in all activities including escalation of issues and business risks and management of external relationships. Develop and present solutions and risk mitigation strategies.


A minimum of a University degree in relevant business/science field is required. MBA is an asset.

A minimum of 5 years of progressive healthcare marketing experience is required.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in Over the Counter (OTC) or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) is required.

Previous sales/account management experience is an asset.

Bilingual (English and French) is an asset.

Strong interdependent partnering skills to support effective internal and external working relationships.

Strong customer orientation with proven record of developing needs-based customer programs.

Strong analytical and financial management skills.

This position is located in Burnaby, BC and requires travel of up to 10% (Canada and US).
