Responsible for overall project delivery.

Position Summary

Responsible for overall project delivery including, but not restricted to: application engineering, hardware and software, control of internally and externally subcontracted support, project management, factory testing, preparation of system documentation and specifications, and coordinating commissioning service with CSM where appropriate.

Coordinate resources between project teams.

Assist commercial team with customer presentations/sales efforts, proposals, and contract/scope reviews.

Determine feasibility, assess risks, and provide direction for pursuing potential business opportunities.

Monitor activities relating to the delivery of engineered solutions to ensure customer satisfaction and promote repeat business..

Support design reviews and system testing activities.

Review and provide input to Engineering and Project Management guidelines and standards.

Participate in regional business engineering team under leadership of regional business engineering manager.

Participate in development of strategic plan for the future direction of the business.

Provide input to Annual Operating Plan.

Establish policies/directives for increasing the productivity of systems design to maintain competitive engineering costs and lead-times.

Provide lead role in directing/coaching engineers/project managers in their activities.

Anticipate the need for change and support and promote company-wide programs, strategies and initiatives.

Responsible for the management of department personnel, which includes determining human resource requirements, competencies, training needs and initiating performance and salary reviews.

Support leadership review including succession planning.

Member of the business management team participating in all aspects of the business.

Create an environment conducive to successful team interaction.

Support an environment conducive to customer satisfaction.

Responsible for managing project standard margins to agreed levels; for managing assets, both inventory and accounts receivable and for achieving proper burden recovery on all direct hours applied to projects.

Meet or exceed utilization and budgetary targets, as well as target completion/delivery dates

Responsible for revenue/margin aspects of financial forecast for assigned business.

Builds partnerships with key Rockwell customers which contribute to business success.

Responsible for customer satisfaction in assigned business.

Identifies opportunities for partnering with third parties who support the business strategy and provide added growth in revenue and profit.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering

P.Eng Designation in British Columbia, Alberta or Saskatchewan.

8+ years of experience in system design and/or project management.

3+ years of project leadership experience in a systems engineering organization.

Demonstrated ability to positively interact with customers at management levels.

Proven problem solving experience.

Ability to motivate staff and encourage optimal performance

Microsoft Office Experience.

Ability to travel 30% percent of the time.

Desired Characteristics

Further education in business administration, management, operations and/or project engineering is desirable.

Bilingual in English and French would be desired.
