The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) will be responsible for managing Van Houtte Coffee Services clients and accounts as well as for providing outstanding customer service to our customers.

Reporting to the Territory Manager, the ISR works with the sales team to ensure business growth based on the portfolio of assigned accounts.


   Achieve individual and team sales goals;

   Answers inbound calls as customer service point of contact;

   Support and work closely with a team of Business Development Managers and Route Sales Representatives;

   Implement and animate national sales campaigns;

   Launch new products and services;

   Ensure service levels are measured and met;

   Take orders from clients and process payments on line;

   Maintain a minimum customer order level every month;

   Work on increasing profitability of customers by upselling (cooler options, small pack, cooler cleaning with the end goal of moving all accounts to premium level;

   Escalate Premium & Preferred customers’ retention risks by communication accounts at risk or lost to appropriate Managers;

   Qualify customer needs, and volume requirements. Increase sales in assigned territory/to assigned customers;

   Execute any data base marketing campaigns based on vertical market and report results;

   Make outbound calls (approximately 30-40 per day) to customers to generate new orders as required by assigned District Sales Managers or Business Development Managers. Follow up with clients on inbound and outbound leads within a week;

   Direct and guide customers to Electronic Payment option;

   Set up accounts accurately in systems;

   Keep Sales Reports updated;

   Provides customer service to all VHCS clients by answering inbound call.


   College Degree in Marketing or equivalent;

   3 to 5 years of experience in a sales function, with relevant experience as a Sales Representative as well as telephone sales/customer service or equivalent outside sales experience;

   Knowledge and experience working with a sales and customer service  systems and software;

   Microsoft Office applications, CRM experience preferred

The Inside Sales Representative is an important part of the sales, service and delivery team and is responsible for ensuring that our customers’ expectations and needs are fully satisfied.
