You will have proven success in at least one of the following business areas: commercial mortgage servicing operations, account and portfolio management or default management at a financial services or financial institution. The Commercial Mortgage Servicing team administers nearly $13 billion in commercial mortgage investments on behalf of Canada's most prominent financial institutions, investment managers, life insurance companies, public pension funds and other financial lenders. Our experienced team services a diverse portfolio of all loan types from CMHC-insured, conventional to high yield secured against all property types across Canada.
Provide oversight and direction for direct reports in carrying out servicing processes and support other Commercial Servicing Managers who oversee our functional areas.
Handle investor or client borrower escalations and stakeholder requests.
Champion continuous improvement programs to create efficiencies and greater customer service for our clients.
Provide mentoring and coaching to our Commercial Mortgage Specialists to drive staff growth, training and career development.
Ensure compliance of CMLS’ Servicing policies and procedures and respective investor servicing agreements.
Maintaining positive relations with key corporate partners including investors, solicitors, and corporate clients.
Act as a liaison with internal departments including Credit Risk to identify and implement cross-departmental improvements.
You have 5+ years of experience in commercial mortgages and managing direct reports.
You have completed an undergraduate degree in one of the following concentrations: business administration, accounting, finance, or real estate is considered an asset.
You have strong business writing skills to enhance policies and procedures.
You have a passion for real estate combined with an understanding of commercial asset classes such as multi-family, industrial, retail and office.
You have intermediate experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Power Pivot an asset).
You are results-driven and possess strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
You possess an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to adapt to a variety of responsibilities.
You take ownership of your work and demonstrate a high degree of accountability and commitment at all times.
You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and work well independently as well as within a team environment.
You are bilingual in verbal and written French is considered a strong asset.
