We are looking for a process and people-oriented manager to provide editing and translation services to support the production of English and French advertising / promotional materials.

Reporting to the Director – Retail Marketing & Production Services, you are responsible for maintaining and controlling all editing and translation operations for the quality and accuracy of marketing, advertising and promotional materials produced in English and French. You develop your team and manage the partnership with our Language Service Provider (LSP) to efficiently and effectively provide translation and proofreading services to the company on budget. You foster a positive work environment with other production teams and assist our clients.

What You Will Do…

   Lead, develop and manage the Editing & Translation Team composed of one Translation Specialist, one Translator/Proofreader, one Lead Copy Editor, one English Copy Editor, two Bilingual Copy Editors and two seasonal contracts hired for the critical ‘Make The Holiday’ period of the year.

   Provide overall direction to the department in order to meet Executive Leadership objectives, including holding weekly department meetings to communicate new initiatives, production related standards and company information.

   Schedule resources and ensure that detailed schedules are accurate and up-to-date and communicated to necessary parties.

   Ensure that the team follows production and special project schedules and monitor job progress, track status of ongoing projects. Flag potential delays and assist Retail Marketing & Production Services Director to ensure accurate and timely distribution of EN proofed and translated/FR proofed material.

   Assist in the creation of policies and procedures unique to the department in order to achieve operational objectives.

   Take a leadership role in the implementation of a new Digital Asset Management system.

   Liaise with Content Team in eCommerce to improve workflows and processes and enhance productivity and content consistency across channels.

   Ensure the production of correction notices and action plans to prevent recurrent errors.

   Proactively identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve operational efficiencies.

   Manage translation costs and quality by determining the balance between in-house and outsourcing.

   Maintain strong partnership with our LSP while representing the interests of the Company.

We’d Love To Hear From People With 3-5+ Years Of Experience In:

   Team management, leadership role managing people and helping in their development

   Budget and reporting responsibilities

   Production or operations in Marketing, Advertising or Retail industry.

Your Educational Background…

   Degree in Business Management, Language Studies or Marketing

Bonus if you have these skills…

   French language and/or knowledge of the Quebec market

   Experience with product information management (PIM) and digital asset management (DAM) systems
