The Manager, Partnerships and Events (West) will assist with developing and leading Aurora’s public engagement strategy.

Reporting to the Director, Partnerships and Events, the Manager, Partnerships and Events (West) will assist with developing and leading Aurora’s public engagement strategy. This includes working with stakeholders in sales and business development to plan and execute multi-city client and executive events. The ideal candidate brings proven people leadership abilities, impeccable organizational skills and extensive event planning experience.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Solicit and review event & partnership proposals

Manage event program and branded activation design

Manage the work of internal teams and external agency partners to execute all event and activation logistics

Liaise with agency partner to train, schedule and supervise brand ambassadors at all events

Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring all expenditures are fiscally responsible and maximize efficiency

Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop an event’s marketing strategy

Lead the planning and delivery of all program related events

Source, negotiate and manage all event partners and vendors

Ensure events are executed smoothly and be the primary onsite point of contact to resolve any challenges that occur

Analyze and report on the event strategy monthly

Proactively build relationships with and seek out partnerships that are aligned with our event strategy

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge and/or experience working in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment considered an asset

High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and negotiation experience with suppliers, caterers, venues and partnership

Problem-solving and management through stressful situations

Event budgeting and financials

Proven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders

Strong leadership skills and experience of successfully managing a team

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a small team of specialists

Bilingual (English and French) considered an asset Excellent organizational skills

The ability to interact positively with a variety of individuals

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Excellent computer skills, proficient in PowerPoint and Excel

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Marketing, or related/equivalent experience

4-6 years experience managing and coordinating large scale corporate events

Experience in multiple marketing disciplines strongly preferred

Familiarity with the medical use of Cannabis and understanding of the Cannabis industry in general is considered a strong asset

Experience with managing multiple events
