The P&C Operations team is passionate about providing team members with positive experiences, from their pay advice to the tools we use to support our Total Rewards processes. We want to be easier to do business with and we’re ready to innovate and elevate ourselves and our processes/tools to make that happen. This team has deep knowledge and experience and take great pride in their delivery of services to our customer – the TELUS team.

You’re an awesome team player who will drive our Total Rewards & supporting operational strategy forward. Your passion, strong payroll expertise and knowledge and exceptional collaboration abilities are strengths that will be critical in the delivery of our products and services. Building strong relationships with in the P&C team and with our business partners. Your insightful portfolio analytics and recommendations will influence strategic decisions made by leaders. You’ll also team up with friendly, supportive internal partners, including P&C leadership and business partner members and our key business stakeholders, and external stakeholders, such as government agencies, to shape the future of work.

Here's how…

Execution of our biweekly, monthly and quarterly payrolls

Ensure all inputs and outputs of your payroll are compliant with TELUS, legislated or negotiated requirements

Meet both internal and external auditor’s Sarbanes-Oxley control requirements

Lead a team of dedicated professionals, integrating work processes with your colleagues

Accountable for the accuracy, limit in use and protection of team member data within your stewardship

Leverage and enhance our use of the SAP payroll system to support your deliverables

Operate as a Trusted Advisor and Ambassador

Act as a subject matter expert for payroll from a compliance to federal and provincial legislation perspective

The central point of contact for the payroll function, issue resolution oversight and other related communication

Collaborate with business partners to support and deliver various programs to our team members, including recommendations at various committees to gain direction, alignment, and final approval

Build strong relationships across Canada within the P&C community and represent P&C Operations at meetings/external functions

Provide critical business insights and thought leadership

Maintain our compliance adherence brand both internally with audit and externally with government and audit agencies to prevent penalties for non-compliance

Build a culture of continuous improvement and innovation to drive efficiencies

Prepare monthly activity reports that support our P&C Operations dashboard

Qualifications

You're the missing piece of the puzzle…

Valued for your 7 to 10 years of payroll and compliance continuous education and experience, in both federal and provincial environments

Noted as a solid communicator and excellent collaborator who can influence and build strong business partner relationships

Talented at translating complicated and seemingly impossible asks into clear, easy to understand and doable actions for the team to deliver

Recognized for managing numerous competing priorities and commitments with extremely high attention to detail in an organized manner

Poised and confident in engaging with all levels of management, including clearly articulating TELUS’ obligations and recommendations for delivery

Pro at using the different functions of Excel and SAP HR and FI modules

With a university degree or college diploma, with a slant towards Human Resources, including CPA and CPM designations

Nice-to-haves:

CHRP designation would be an asset

Bilingual in English and French, both written and oral
