As a Senior Compensation Partner, you will provide subject matter expertise to the People & Culture (P&C) team members and business unit leaders that enable the achievement of TELUS' goals and objectives. With your consultative approach, strategic focus, curiosity, industry knowledge, analytical thinking, and pragmatism, you’ll influence decisions relating to our programs.

You provide professional understanding of compensation, total rewards, and human resources and use your knowledge to reinforce the design, education and facilitation of compensation programs that supports the constantly changing needs of our business landscape.

Working as a trusted partner to the People & Culture team, leaders of your dedicated business unit, you will consult and advise on compensation policies and programs. You will also look to solve a diverse set of problems based on sound analytics and industry best practice. The P&C team as well as leaders in the organization depend on our team to provide guidance on internal and external market trends and we help empower leaders to effectively attract and retain new team members in alignment with the TELUS strategy.

Here’s how

Advisor to the business by proactively partnering with customers to identify issues or organizational design challenges and providing guidance to help develop solutions

Support business objectives by providing compensation consulting and advice, and directing analytical support

Aligns compensation approaches with business needs of the client groups by providing analysis and suggested approaches to business retention and recruitment issues; proactively suggests solutions or alternative actions to resolve rewards related challenges

Participate in the overall compensation planning, implementation and communication

Leads and works on projects through various stages from assessment with the business through implementation

Prepare reports and presentations outlining results and trends with compensation initiatives and metrics


You’re the missing piece of the puzzle

Bilingual background, skills, and proficiency; written and conversational English & French skills are required

Knowledge & awareness of Human Resources (HR) Centre of Excellence programs and services

Ability to resolve moderately complex business issues and suggest solutions that drive outcomes

Problem-solving mindset: Fundamentals of taking a problem, conducting analysis, and building recommendations

Strong communication skills: Clear, concise and influential in all aspects of communication

Strong decision making skills: Grounded in data where there’s more than your gut

Strong collaboration skills: Someone others actively seek out to partner with

Fear of mediocrity

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and education

Minimum 7 years of experience in compensation or equivalent role


Recipient or working towards your Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or equivalent

Recipient or working towards your WorldatWork - Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation
