In this role you will be part of a national team, which leads training initiatives and/or participates in technology and firm related projects which have a requirement for training support.

We are seeking a Technology Training Specialist, to be located in our Vancouver office and join the Business Technology team. In this role you will be part of a national team, which leads training initiatives and/or participates in technology and firm related projects which have a requirement for training support. Further, this role is also part of our global technology training team, which will from time to time, have a requirement for collaborating on design, development and implementation of training documentation, processes and initiatives.  This position will report to the Manager, Application and Training Services, and is required to work closely with and build strong work relations with colleagues located across Dentons’ Canadian offices and with Technology Training teams globally.

To be successful in this role the candidate must possess advanced knowledge in computer software applications, have a passion for learning & training, writing documentation and adaptable to the ever changing technology world!

Primary Responsibilities

Deliver Technology related training to all new people joining Dentons;

Provide training for firm-wide software initiatives, inclusive of new or upgraded technology;

Update and maintain the software training curriculum and documentation;

Create comprehensive learning information, such as Tech Tips, job aids, recorded webinar, eLearning and reference guides;

Participate in the communication and coordination of training events;

Work with the Application team and local Vancouver IT team to develop an expert level knowledge of the software applications in use at Dentons Canada LLP;

Respond to and resolve escalated Technical Services Desk calls that relate to investigating and resolving staff/lawyers reported issues with software applications or how-to questions;

Assist with testing and supporting new initiatives/projects that involve the upgrade or deployment of software applications;

Is a resource for general staff/lawyers for miscellaneous technical support in the Vancouver office; and

Actively participate in any national or global discussions and/or initiatives that may be assigned to you;

Core Skills

Expert knowledge of the Microsoft Office 2016 Suite;

Experience in developing and implementing online learning;

Experience with eLearning authoring and video production using tools such as Captivate, Camtasia or other video editing software;

Knowledge of document management systems is preferred;

Strong communication (both oral and written), interpersonal and presentation skills;

Willingness and ability to learn new technology quickly and apply knowledge;

Proven ability to provide high quality client service;

Self-motivated, with ability to work independently and/or without direct supervision;

Excellent organizational and time management skills;

Excellent attention to detail;

Keen interest and ability to work collaboratively as part of a national and global team.

Requirements

Bilingual (English/French) is preferred;

Previous working experience in a law firm preferred;

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in developing and delivering application software training;

Post-secondary education with a focus on adult education and training is an asset;

CTDP or CTP Designation is an asset;

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification is an asset.
