A day in the life of a Transaction Technician

Working remotely, you start the day by grabbing a nice cup of coffee before logging on to your computer. Once you get settled, you look at your tasks for the day and decide how you would like to structure your schedule. The first task of the morning is checking the inbox and handling e-mails that you receive from our advisors. Throughout the day, you also help with indexing Workflow requests, beneficiary changes and provide excellent client experience while communicating with advisors. You don’t mind the work from home life and you’re able to adapt to it, helping the team develop new ways of moving forward, while sharing your ideas to help increase efficiency. Even though you’re working from home, you feel supported by your team and continue to feel like you’re a part of a nurturing work environment.

As a Transaction Technician, you will:  

  • Handle incoming mail and emails
  • Index new work requests within the Workflow system
  • Address changes and returned mailed
  • Beneficiary changes
  • Process incoming premium payments
  • Identify rules and procedures that require updating and suggest improvements to simplify processes and gain efficiencies
  • Other duties as assigned.


You have:  

  • General college degree/diploma and 1 year relevant office or administrative experience
  • Good computer skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent judgement and detail-oriented
  • Client-focused
  • Works well independently and in a team environment
  • Positive attitude, proactive and self-motivated
  • Knowledge of life insurance an asset
