mentee, you are the “gauge” to measure how interactive and how successful a
mentoring connection will be. By acknowledging that the development of your
career can be enhanced through a series of planned experiences, you decide
upon the amount of help and guidance you need.
You will play many different roles during the course of your mentoring relationship. The following are some important roles for you to keep in mind:
Develop and maintain the mentoring action plan and work with your mentor to set up goals, developmental activities, and time frames
You and your experiences are unique.
Everyone is welcome to be a part of our mentorship program. For these reasons, we will discuss your application with you and our team members.
We are looking for engaged and enthusiastic people with a distinct goal for the end of the program.
BC Talents' mentorship program is based on a vision where mentees and mentors can converse in an open minded, confidential and constructive environment.
BC Talents will follow your progress and support you with each steps along the mentorship program. We will be happy to answer any questions and address any concerns.
Our mentees and mentors who are interested in the program are connected with our Mentorship Associate volunteer (Marion).
You will discuss what the mentorship program involves with Marion or someone else from BC Talents, and then commit to the program for a period of 9 months.
BC Talents will give you the support and documentation needed during the entirety of the mentorship program.
Mentoring benefits everyone involved – mentees and mentors:
Mentoring also helps the community by promoting an environment where people motivate each other and work together to improve their skills and knowledge.
